Philip Buskens, President
Philip Buskens is Vice President “Verbund Site Development & Optimization” at BASF Antwerp. He occupied several positions ranging from applied research, project management and production. Philip was also head of procurement for 4 years. In this function he realised the turnaround to a high performance organisation focussed on value based sourcing. Together with a team he developed a strategy for Europe resulting in the execution of procurement via a limited number of HUB’s.
Philip wants to provide his experiences in procurement but also his view from out side the supply chain, to PASCION.
Manu Matthyssens is managing partner of Solvint and co-founder of Pascion. Over the past 15 years as program manager, he has been responsible for designing various strategic procurement and supply chain re-engineering and development programs with multiple companies in various industries. Earlier, he built his Procurement and Supply Management career within the Telecom and FMCG sector at Alcatel and Danone. Manu is a much solicited speaker and “business trainer” at seminars and in-company workshops. Currently, he is also active as Professor at Antwerp Management School. Bringing procurement into the mindset of young talent and challenging board members on the enormous hidden potential in end to end supply chains is his professional passion !
Marc Slegers, Vice President
Marc Slegers is currently VP Telenet, Procurement & Supply Chain and is responsible for the procurement of all goods & services within Telenet and the end to end supply chain flows . He is also part of the Global procurement committee within the LGI group.
Marc’s career evolved totally within the Procurement & SC field. His previous functions where COO at Reynaers Aluminium, where he had full operational control of the corporate locations and managed the Chinese facility close to Shanghai. Previously he was VP global strategic procurement within Griffith Laboratories, a worldwide player in food flavors and seasonings. Before joining Telenet has was operational director at Pietercil Group, one of the market leaders in Belgium, France & Holland representing some major consumer brands loike Del Monte, Uncle Bens, Haagen Das etc.
Because of his passion for the profession and being a supporter of further strengthening the Supply Chain & Procurement function within Belgium he actively supports the VZW Pascion and its ambitions.
Eddy Goovaerts has developed his career within various ING Procurement organisations, and has been successful in many categories and at all at all levels of the Procurement function: IT, HR, Marketing, Operations, Facilities, at operational, tactical and strategic level, in Belgium, the Netherlands and at Global Procurement level. He was always actively involved in the change efforts, from building the vision to implementation.
He is an open, independent, pragmatic, creative and strategic thinker, team player and people developer, aiming for continuous improvement, challenging the as is and eager to consider and implement new ideas .
His areas of expertise are Procurement organization development, Procurement Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Negotiations, Request to Pay & Operations, Process management, outsourcing and offshoring. Because Procurement is his passion he joined the Board of the VZW PASCION to be in a position to actively contribute to the realization of the goals of the VZW and the development of the Procurement function at strategic level.
Geert Bens, Treasury
Geert Bens is Vice President Purchasing & Transportation at Umicore. He is responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement of Indirect Spend (Capex, Opex, Services & Spare Parts Management), Transport, Customs & Trade Compliance on a global scale.
Geert is addicted to the procurement and supply chain function of Umicore since more than 30 years. He held different positions in Belgium and abroad to build, grow and professionalize the function. He is heading the Umicore P1T organizations since 2007.
Geert has a wide experience in strategic sourcing, in optimizing organisations and implementing state of the art processes and tools, in efficiently and effectively managing internal and external stakeholders, improving compliance in the areas of customs and trade.
Geert joined PASCION with the aim of further picturing and strengthening the procurement function, help building a peer network of procurement leaders in Belgium, stimulating and motivating young professionals to join and enjoy a procurement job.
Wouter Machiels is Head of Global Purchasing Process Office & Centre of Excellence at Agfa Gevaert. Additionally he is globally responsible for all CAPEX and MRO purchases. In his role he manages the different efficiency programs and he ensures the organization is future proof and data driven. He is a skilled project and change manager who earned his stripes in transforming and repositioning the purchasing department within Agfa.
His career started as a project manager in SAP functional consulting, where he picked up the flavor for different industries and developed a helicopter view of all business areas.
Wouter joined Pascion after winning the 2016 Procurement Excellence award, he wants to share his vision to ensure the continued viability and increase the overall impact of the Purchasing function in the companies of tomorrow.
François Petit is Chief Procurement Officer of Recticel group, in charge of strategic sourcing and procurement of all goods and services worldwide. He is part of the Management committee of the company.
He previously worked at Rhodia, a large chemical company taken over 5 years ago by Solvay, and holded various positions ranging from Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Business management and Purchasing, with large international exposure.
He enjoyed much the various aspects of the Procurement functions, including the major impact on company performance, the strategic approaches to develop for optimal sourcing, the interactions with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring rigorous, efficient and effective processes and organisation.
He is passionate about Purchasing, that he discovered during his career , and is eager to share it within PASCION and to get Procurement function fully recognised for its large contribution and high required skills.
Philippe Castellino is Vice President in Solvay Group, in charge of the worldwide Purchasing Academy, EMEA JV’s Coordination and Genex, IT and Quality portfolio. He is part of the EMEA Management Committee of the company.
Before joining Solvay in 2005, where he built the worldwide purchasing organization in the Pharmaceuticals BU, he worked more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical sector in international companies (Fresenius, Hospal/Gambro) and hold various positions ranging from Finance, Logistics, and Purchasing, with international exposure.
experienced and multifaceted professional with over 30 year work experience in Purchasing & Supply Chain with strategic orientations and proven performances, and a passion for people development and the learning experience.
He is passionate about Purchasing and worked in different french purchasing associations to promote this function. He joined PASCION to bring his purchasing experience and knowledge, for contributing to the promotion and development of the professionalism of the Purchasing function, at the strategic level
Patrick Schodts is a pascionate procurement professional with over 20 years experience in different industries.
After an initial period in oil & gas, after graduating as Industrial Engineer, Patrick covered procurement and logistics management functions for Esso, in industrial services at Stork Industry Services,
High tech machine building at Hansen Transmissions International, Building Industry as CPO at Reynaers Aluminium before returning as a free lancer
to oil a gas business on the large expansion project OPTARA for TOTAL Refinery Antwerp, covering all subcontracting agreements for the project.
Patrick is currently active in the building industry as CPO for Groep Verelst.
His passion links to total procurement change projects where people, processes and performance are focus areas. As a change manager, Patrick can best demonstrate his added value, that he gladly shares with other pascionatas.
Ann Biebuyck is Purchasing and Marketing Director at Adveo Benelux, part of a leading European organization providing workspace solutions.
Ann recently changed sector and has a vast experience within the food industry.
She started her career in different food production environments as a Purchase Manager (Comptoir Gourmand and McCain).
Since 2010 she was part of the Direction Committee at Lunch Garden, the number one self-service restaurant chain in Belgium, where she had a significant contribution in the turnaround of the company.
It is within this period Purchase Management was taken to a broader context, including Logistics and Quality Management.
She has been granted the first title of Procurement Ambassador in 2015, thanks to her professional approach towards all stakeholders and the great results obtained within this transformation process.
Continuously seeking cost optimization, in combination with open-mindedly looking for growth opportunities, are two characteristics a Procurement expert needs to combine.
Ann is eager to share with others her experience and to learn about best practices CPO’s share across different industries.
