May 24th: Agile Procurement event @Tivoli Castle

On May 24th we landed at Tivoli Castle in Mechelen for a session on Agile Procurement.  Key Questions to be answered were “is Agile just an excuse for bad planning or is it this century’s penniciline?” A lot of eager participants and just as many very vocal opinions made it a very interactive and interresting session that delivered on promise, thanks to the speakers from Deloite and KPMG, but mostly thanks to the interaction with the CPO’s.

Thank you for being there and making it a good session once again.

Member Satisfaction Survey Results

Dear Pascion member,

Early 2018 we sent out a member satisfaction survey, to gauge how our most important asset, our member base, feels we are doing as a community.  We are pleased and proud that you all rewarded us with a Net Promoter Score of 35, a great accomplishment that all of you are part of.

The main take-aways for us were to look into what you think makes an event successful.  It seems we are well aligned there, as the responses showed a lot of consistency.  In one sentence “an interesting topic, implementable in your day to day business, ample opportunity to network, preferably in a diverse attendee group”.

Next to what makes a good event, we wanted to learn what we can improve as a community, and specifically towards the events we organize.  The responses here can be divided into 2 categories:

  • Practical: earlier invitations via calendar invites, accessibility of the venues, clearance for specialized colleagues to attend specialized sessions
  • Conceptual: reach out to other C levels, more differentiation in members, more guest speakers.

We want to take the time to thank you for your clear feedback and commit to take your guidance into consideration in scoping the calendar and concept for our next cycle.

As to the topics you suggested for future sessions, we will long-list these and distribute a poll on one of our next events to ensure our 2019 calendar tackles your burning platforms.

We look forward to discuss with you at our next events!

Some figures:

Number of questions: 7
Net Promoter Score: 35
Survey Closing Date: 31/01/2018
Response Rate: 67%
Number of suggested new topics: 11

29/03/2018: Future CPO event on Digital Procurement @ Havenwerf

40+ participants joined us in our Digital Procurement Session at Havenwerf in Mechelen.  Digitization is a hot topic in procurement, as we are mid-change, but struggling to find the correct strategy towards AI, CI and robotics in procurement.

Jan Vandael of McKinsey explained how to go about building your strategy and what your focus areas should be.  His presentation was followed by a stream of questions and interactive discussions within the audience, confirming indeed the need for a common understanding.

Charles Henri Royon, VP Emea for Tradeshift enlightened us with a futuristic presentation of what he sees as current challenges, and roadmap forward.

The discussion was sparked and conversation was ample, bringing us to the end of a very interested and challenging Pascion Closed Event.

Thank you all for making it a success.

07 December 2017 - End of Year Reception @ Living Tomorrow

On december 7th, we had our annual End of Year reception @Livingtomorrow in Vilvoorde.  We had a look back to the past year, and gave a first glance at our 2018 agenda, together with all of you.  Thank you for making 2017 a success, and looking forward to doing even better in our anniversary year 2018.

Oct 24th: Future CPO event: soft skills in Procurement

Octobre 24th was the day of the most recent Future CPO event, and it was a big one, with 25 future CPO’s present, flanked by their CPO’s and Pascion Board members.  We welcomed Procurement Ambassador winner Sebastien Bals, who delivered an inspiring speech on the must have skills to be future ready after which we dived into the interactive part of the afternoon: Buzzword Bingo.  Indeed, a very interactive session it was, where the procurement professionals showed their most competitive selves which only added to the quality, the camaradery and the atmosphere of the event.  Pascion wants to take the opportunity to thank Telenet and VIB for the prices provided, and off course all of you for your contribution, your self reflection and alltogether, for making the event a success.

June 15th - Pascion B2SEA event

On 15 June in Nieuwpoort, Pascion invited its members to a luxury event at the belgian coast where we not only got the insights of Giles Breault (principal, the Beyond Group), but we got first hand information from Copperhead’s CEO Stefaan Bettens.  We concluded the day in a sailing regatta, that culminated in a copperhead apéro and dinner, where we all debriefed on the priorities for the CPO of the future.  Enjoy the pictures

April 2017 Future CPO event - Your Career in Procurement

On april 27th we gathered at de Jachthoorn in Kontich with our future CPO’s and HiPo’s in Purchasing to discuss how they see their Career in Procurement.  Moderated by Herman van Ballart, HR manager at SGS, we touched upon talent retention, job crafting and expectations towards HR in a very interactive session.

February 2017: On Demand Session

On demand of our members we organised a session about Best Value Procurement.  Jeroen Van De Rijt, Dutch expert in BVP, brought a very interesting presentation about the methodology.  BVP requires a completely new way of thinking about procurement.  Instead of telling the suppliers what they should deliver and how, with a lot of detailed specifications, you should listen to them and let them make their best proposal, based on their expertise.

December 2016: Pascion Year End Event

On the 8th of December, Pascion organised its Year End Event in the Atomium in Brussels. With an amazing view over the city of Brussels, the Atomium offered the perfect conditions to look back at the different events which were organised this year and we also revealed to our guests the calendar for 2017.

We had an interview with the winner of the Procurement Excellence Award 2016, Wouter Machiels, who inspired the attendees on why every company should enter their procurement project in 2017. At the same time, Wouter announced that he accepted to join the board of Pascion and that he is eager to contribute his knowledge to the world of procurement and supply chain. Welcome on board Wouter!

We would like to thank everyone for their ‘pascion’ during all of the events this year!  Enjoy the Christmas holidays and hope to see you again in 2017!
